Living for the Lord?

"I'm living for the Lord." That is a phrase used by many Christians to express their commitment and standing with God, but let's delve into the phrase and see if it really describes our lives. There seems to be a thought that once a person is 'born again' he or she is automatically 'living for the Lord' from that point forward and barring a further personal epiphany they can just settle into a passive existence of niceness until their days on earth are over. They feel that somehow if they just don't curse or swear, or if they don't actively engage in evils or sins they are then 'living for the Lord". However, the life of God in Messiah, the walk of the Kingdom in its power and authority, is not seen flowing from them. Instead, people have been led down a primrose path of passivity in their spiritual walks. And, the misleading thought which states that, "niceness is all which is required of me" has become their gospel. Does 'living for the Lord' somehow mean that you brush your teeth for religious reasons now? As a testimony perhaps? Or, does it mean that you now watch TV as a witness for Messiah? The believer has been deceived! ...deceived into thinking that all the Kingdom life consists of is being inoffesive to those around us while we wait to pass on to heaven one day. Nothing can be further from the truth. The believer is sent into the world to be a mighty witness of the power of Yeshua. The saint is sanctified to walk in the authority of His Kingdom upon the earth. Where the believer goes, filled with the Ruach of God, the will of God is to be made manifest through his life in Messiah with signs, wonders, and salvations. You are the very Body of Messiah on earth placed here to return the blessings of God unto all who would believe. You have a responsibility and a duty to your Lord and King to bring all things into the light of the gospel, and He has empowered you. Fear not. Of course, you should still brush your teeth while saved, just don't let it be the purpose of your life. "And these signs shall follow them that believe; In my name shall they cast out devils; they shall speak with new tongues; They shall take up serpents; and if they drink any deadly thing, it shall not hurt them; they shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover." Mark 16:17-18
